ABOUT

Christine and Summerhouse Studio

Teaching Pilates since 2006,  in a purpose built fully equipped Summerhouse with top of the range Pilates studio equipment.

Meet Christine

I qualified as a Pilates teacher in 2006 with Body Control Pilates. Under the supervision of Karin Locher, founder and director of Centre for Spatial Medicine and Contrology Pilates Method (CPM). I successfully completed CPM’s Comprehensive Teaching Training programme.  Thus enabling me to teach clients using studio apparatus.

I have has since completed courses allowing me to work with clients of particular needs – such as pre-and post natal women and those suffering from neurological conditions.  I am a registered professional with BackCare, a charity for back and neck pain.

I am committed to improving, expanding and deepening my knowledge in the field of movement therapy, through regular attendance of workshops and continuing education programmes.

I originally qualified as a manual therapist over 20 years ago and practised complementary therapies such as Reflexology and Aromatherapy for a number of years before qualifying in sports massage therapy.

I worked with disabled and able-bodied athletes; attending at various sporting events including the London Marathon and the London Triathlon.

I used to provide therapy to disabled and able-bodied persons at the Disability Foundation based at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore.

The studio was originally the site of a Summerhouse and is purpose-built and sits at the bottom of my garden it is now where I work providing 1-1 tuition for those who are rehabilitating from injury or simple wish to enhance their movement potential.

I am a Moving Fascia® Teacher and use the Moving Fascia® Method to improve and support the body’s innate ability to move well.

In this session we use self-release techniques designed to soften tension in the fascia, restoring mobility to tissues that have become dehydrated through injury, immobility, or bad posture.

Reviews
  • I have been attending Christine’s class for some time now and I can feel a difference in my knee flexibility. Christine is very professional and helps the attendees to do exercise at their own pace. I would highly recommend her classes to others.
